ReVamp is Floor Jansen's new band!

Only one year ago After Forever stopped permanently but she decided she wanted to continue making heavy music!!!

She did not start jamming with a band straight away in order to make an album. Instead she asked Joost van den Broek (ex-After Forever) and Waldemar Sorychta (ex-Grip Inc., Enemy Of The Sun) to join her in a songwriting process. Within a few months they managed to write enough material to start recording an album. In January 2010 they did so!

On the album you will hear Waldemar play all guitars and bass guitar. Joost did all keyboards, played the piano and made the arrangements for strings and choir. Drummer Koen Herfst (Bagga Bownz) did an amazing performance on the drums and of course Floor took care of the the vocals (not all though...there are two special guests on the album, who they are will be kept secret a little bit longer :-)

On the 4^th of June the album will be released!

One month before the release ReVamp will go live!!!

Who you will see on stage next to Floor is a surprise as well...

We do want to introduce them to you of course! We'll start with the keyboard player and the bass player.

Let us introduce ourselves:

For 12 years, Floor fronted the Dutch metal band After Forever. In the beginning of 2009, the band announced it’s final break and Floor had to move on alone. She did not want to stay on her own and soon started to work on creating ReVamp. She aimed at getting back together with a band. Working with one team of talented people instead of going solo or working on all kinds of projects, appealed much more to her. 

You step in half way this process. Her dream is already partially realized.

To involve you in the process, Floor already wants to show what she’s working on She felt the compassion of so many people when her band After Forever stopped. She wants to reward this loyalty by showing everybody how ReVamp is growing step by step. She needs you to support her to turn this into a big success, just like After Forever was thanks to having such a great fan base!

Waldemar Sorychta – guitar player, composer, producer. Creative force behind Grip Inc. with Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo from 1993-2004. Also known as the producer for bands like Lacuna Coil, Sentenced, Tiamat, Samael, The Gathering, Tristania, Moonspell and many others. Nominated in 1995 for a Grammy Award in Sweden as "Producer of the Year" for the record "Wildhoney" by Tiamat. Gold records with Moonspell and Sentenced. But most importantly a passionate and outstanding musician who gives everything for music.

Born in 1982 in a small village in the South of Holland, Joost started showing interest in music at a very young age. The first word he ever spoke was ‘contrabas’ (double bass), which was the result of a very big and early passion/fascination for orchestra’s and orchestral music in general. Growing up Joost picked up a whole variety of instruments and eventually found his main instrument being the keyboards and piano. Since forever he knew music is his life and will always be the main vein of his system.

After graduating the grammar school in 2000 he started a study at the conservatorium called ‘musicproduction and keyboards’…the perfect match! During this study Joost played in several national and international bands and projects, mainly in the symphonic and prog rock/metal genre. Also he started doing his own productions plus composing and arranging for the most versatile bands, artists, events and projects.

After he finished this study he received a scholarship to start a masterstudy. In these upcoming 2 years he specialized himself in arrangement, orchestration and classical piano. In 2006 he graduated cum laude (with honour) by performing and presenting his work, impressing the jury by his achievements and level especially on this young age.

In the last years Joost has been experiencing the musicbusiness in the largest sense of the word; touring with the band ‘After Forever’ (for which he was also composing and arranging), arranging and orchestrating for a large number of artists, bands and events, plus working with a lot of orchestra’s; composing and producing for national and international TVshows, TV- and radiocommercials, computergames, artists, filmtrailers and events.

Besides that he also teaches at the conservatory of Amsterdam, giving the courses keyboards, piano, education and arrangement.

On top of this all he is musical director for a few big, annual musicevents in Holland. For these events he can involve alle his talents, not only doing the MD but also writing all the arrangements, doing a part of the organisation and being a keyboarder and bandleader.

For the future Joost hopes to continue his path and will always be looking for new challenges, new and inspiring people to work with and ways to learn and develop more and more. One of his biggest dreams is being able to compose, arrange and produce big scores for the most beautiful movies and games every day of the year.

About Jaap:

Jaap grew up in both the Netherlands as several countries in Latin America. He started playing drums but one day decided to pick up a four-string. He has been professionally active in the music industry since 1997 and also works as a graphic designer.

Jaap and Floor met around 1999 when they both lived in Roermond and studied at the Tilburg Rock Academy.

About Ruben:

My name is Ruben Wijga, 22 years old, and I'm very happy to say I will be the live keyboard player of ReVamp!

Besides freaking out on my synthesizers, I study composition, music production and studio production at the conservatory of Groningen. Furthermore I like to play violin, which is actually the first instrument I started playing, back when I was nine years old.

I'm looking forward to making some genius metal and I hope to see you all at the ReVamp shows!
